The Virginia Department of Veterans Services has posted a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain vendor ideas and information regarding the range of market options for improving and automating the disability compensation claims process. DVS expects responses to involve both process and technology improvements that improve claim accuracy, completeness, consistency and delivery such that the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs is able to adjudicate claims (and award benefits) more quickly.
The RFI process solicits market response to identify business case criteria, potential vendor tools, methodology, system requirements, and budgetary requirements. The process will culminate with a report summarizing market place response, identifying the three best fit strategies and the rationale for each.
Based upon the information collected form the market, DVS leadership will work with the Board of Veteran Services, Joint Leadership Council and the Secretary of Public Safety to determine if a full procurement will be pursued and in what timeframe.
