Lane Carson LOUISIANA DVA ANNOUNCES 100% VA FUNDING SECURED FOR NEW VETERANS CEMETERY; AWARDS CONSTRUCTION BID

The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) announced this week that it has received official notification of a grant funding award from Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the amount of $6,135,259 for the establishment of a Louisiana State Veterans Cemetery at Leesville, LA. The grant will fund 100% of the initial costs to develop the cemetery.

M. David Hampton Navajo Veterans Awarded Two Bronze Stars 43 Years After Service

Arizona Department of Veterans' Services Director Joey Strickland pins the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster to the chest of Lee Chee in a special ceremony in Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo Nation. Chee, a Navajo veteran, was awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster and a "V" device for Valor for his actions during a firefight near Lai Khe, Vietnam on June 17, 1967 when he was a Private First Class in the 2d Battalion, 28th Infantry.

Norman Ross, State Vice-Commander, Arizona Korean War Veterans Association and Jessie Gersten, State Commander, Arizona Korean War Veterans' Association join Arizona Department of Veterans' Services Director Joey Strickland at the Kino Veterans' Korean War Memorial during ceremonies in Tucson commemorating the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. Lane Carson LDVA OPENS SERVICE OFFICE TO SUPPORT NEW ORLEANS AREA VETERANS

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) hosted a ribbon cutting on April 28 to announce the opening of its newest service office, located at the Jackson Barracks in New Orleans. LDVA now maintains service offices in all of Louisiana’s 64 parishes.

Robert Horton Alabama National Cemetery Honors America's Fallen

MONTEVALLO - A solemn day of remembrance marked the second annual Memorial Day observance held Monday at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
